HMRC URGING TAXPAYERS TO FILE TAX RETURNS WITHIN THE NEXT THREE WEEKS

Posted on Wednesday, 05 October 2011 03:51PM by
With the 31 October deadline for paper tax returns just weeks away, HM Revenue & Customs is urging taxpayers to get their paper tax returns in on time, or face a penalty. If taxpayers send in a paper tax return on or after 1 November, they will now be hit with a £100 penalty following the introduction of a new penalty regime this year - even if there is no tax to pay or the tax due is paid on time.

However by using the online filing system taxpayers have until 31st January 2012 to file their returns.

If you are in the position that you may risk being late in filing a paper return, please
contact us for a free initial consultation to discuss your requirements and we may be able to file your return online, giving you three months to update your affairs.
